Acrylics vs Glaze on a Ceramic piece
Columbus, OH
When you chose a ceramic piece as your project, you also get to choose what type of paint to use! The cool thing is that it doesn’t change the price. There are a couple of things to think about when deciding. Do you want your piece to be shiny and can you wait 7 to 10 days to have your finished piece?
If you choose acrylic, it will not be shiny, it will be matte, but you will be able to take your piece home with you the day you paint it. We like to suggest giving it a couple coats of polyurethane spray when you get it home and it is completely dry. That will give it a little shine and will also give protection.
If you choose glaze, it will get shiny, but it has to be fired to get that way. That is what takes 7 to 10 days.
